چکیده
In this paper, the role of soft open point (SOP) is investigated with and without system re-configuration (SR) in reducing overall power losses improving voltage profile, as well effect increasing number SOPs connected to distribution systems under different scenarios using a proposed hybrid water cycle algorithm (HWCA). The HWCA formulated enhance (WCA) search performance based on genetic (GA) for complex nonlinear problem discrete continuous variables represented paper by SOP installation SR. WCA one most effective optimization algorithms, however, it may have difficulty striking balance between exploration exploitation due nature problem, which mostly causes slow convergence poor robustness. Consequently, an efficient solution improve exploitation, turn leads WCA’s possibility getting trapped local minima. Several cases are studied conducted IEEE 33-node 69-node investigate real benefit gained from alone or simultaneously Based obtained results, succeeds enhancing test considerably terms loss reduction (e.g., 31.1–63.3% 55.7–82.1% compared base case) profile when case while maintaining acceptable magnitudes cases. Furthermore, superiority method validated GA separately both systems. results show outperformance attaining best optimal least iterations.

In power systems, reconfiguration is one of the simplest and most low-cost methods to reach many goals such as self-healing, reliability improvement, and power loss reduction, without including any additional components. Regarding the expansion of distribution networks, communications become more complicate and the number of parameters increases, which makes the reconfiguration problem infeasib...

Hybrid Opposition based Differential Evolution algorithm for Distribution System Reconfiguration
Electrical power distribution systems are critical links between the utility and customer. They are constructed by one of the three types: radial, open loop and network. They are usually arranged to be radial in operation to simplify over-current protection. Utilities are constantly looking for newer technologies that enhance power delivery performance. One of the several important issues is th...

متن کاملNetwork Reconfiguration for Loss Reduction in Three-phase Power Distribution Systems
Power distribution systems typically have tie and sectionalizing switches whose states determine the topological configuration of the network. The system configuration affects the efficiency with which the power supplied by the substation is transferred to the load. Power companies are interested in finding the most efficient configuration, the one which minimizes the real power loss of their t...
